The Importance of STEAM in Early Learning

Children naturally use their curiosity and instincts to explore, experiment, observe, and play. They are constantly exploring the world around them, testing and experimenting and thinking like small scientists – what happens with the LEGO bricks, the paper or the leaves, will they float or sink? What happens if I roll the car down the ramp? What if I use a ball instead? How can I make a chain reaction? These types of skills lay the foundation for the development of children’s Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math (STEAM) skills.

LEGO® Education is excited to announce our newest solution for early learners! STEAM Park is designed to spark children’s natural curiosity and interest within the learning areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM).

The concepts of STEAM are introduced through hands-on learning experiences with LEGO® DUPLO® bricks. Using an amusement park as the theme, this set will instantly engage your preschool class in a familiar way.

PRIMARY

Primary School Computing - The Fun Way

WeDo 2.0 strengthens students’ understanding of the eight science and engineering practices, including asking questions and solving problems, modeling, prototyping, investigating, analyzing and interpreting data, computational thinking, creating evidence based arguments, and obtaining, evaluating, and communicating information.

Develop your students’ competencies through hands-on projects covering key science topics such as physical-, life-, earth- and space sciences, engineering and technology. Improve problem solving, critical thinking, communication, collaboration and integrate the use of relevant digital tools to improve computational thinking skills.

Learn STEM with Robots

With LEGO® MINDSTORMS® Education STEM teaching resources, your pupils can learn STEM by designing, building, programming and testing robots. LEGO® MINDSTORMS® inspiring project-based learning encourages your pupils to dive into the world of computer programming with confidence. The robots can be made to carry out relatively complex tasks, record live data, react to environmental changes – and much more.

LEGO® MINDSTORMS® makes it easy and efficient to plan cross-curricular project-based teaching where the only limits are your pupils’ imaginations!
